Extension of the Mauritania Small Pelagics FIP until 2028

The Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) for small pelagics in Mauritania, which is part of the MarinTrust Improver Programme, has been extended until December 31, 2028.

The FIP is focusing its efforts on long-term measures including governance and transparency, addressing illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and improving science & product traceability.

The FIP will have to comply with all progress reporting requirements to ensure that timebound improvements are made before, ultimately, being able to apply for certification.
